TAKE A SCREENSHOT

QUICK GUIDE:

  1. Press the key combination Win+PrtScr key on your keyboard: press and hold the Windows Key, then press the PrtScr key.
  2. This will automatically create a screenshot of all of your screens and place the file in the “Screenshots” folder.
  3. To access the folder, open Windows Explorer, click the Pictures folder in the left navigation pane, then double click the Screenshots folder on the right.
To Know
On desktop computer keyboards the PrtScr key is usually located in the upper right part, between the “F12” key and the “Scroll Lock” key. On laptop keyboards its location can vary more depending on the manufacturer and model of the device, and also it might require pressing the “Fn” key in combination with it.

  1. Press the key combination Win+Shift+S on your keyboard: press and hold the Windows Key, then press and hold the Shift key, then press the PrtScr key.
  2. The screen will be dimmed and a small toolbar will appear at the top of your screen. Use your mouse to draw a rectangular shape to select the area you wish to take a screenshot of. image
  3. The newly created screenshot will be copied to the clipboard automatically and Windows should prompt you via a notification in the lower right hand corner to edit the screenshot in Snipping Tool. Click on the notification.
    To Know
    if you have uninstalled Snip & Sketch or you don’t see the notification for any reason, you can open Microsoft Paint, paste the screenshot there (as it is already in the Windows clipboard), and then save the file to convenient location.

  4. The screenshot will be loaded in Snip & Sketch where you will have the opportunity to add annotations and perform basic cropping (1). When done editing the screenshot, you can save it to a convenient location using the corresponding Save button on the right side (2). image
