Using system restore (Normal mode)

USING SYSTEM RESTORE (NORMAL MODE)

  1. Right click the Start button, and select System.Start button menu screen
  2. In the next window, click System protection on the left.image
  3. In the next window, click System Restore….image
  4. On the first screen, click Next.image
  5. Select the desired restore point from the list. If you do not see one that suits your needs, you can check the Show more restore points option if it is available. After you have selected the desired restore point, click Next.image
  6. On the next screen, you will be presented with some information about the process. We recommend that you read the information carefully, especially if this is the first time you are using the System Restore feature. When you are ready, click Finish.image
  7. You will be asked if you are certain you want to continue. This is your last chance to cancel the process if you want or need to. If you are indeed certain you wish to proceed, click Yes.image
  8. Your computer will reboot, and the necessary changes will be applied.image
  9. After Windows starts up again, you will see a window with a short summary. Click Close.image

    • On the Start screen you can simply start typing rstrui which will initiate a search automatically. Then start the found application.image
    • On your Desktop you can press Win+R (the Windows key on your keyboard + R), type rstruiin the window, then click OK.image

  2. Make sure the option Restore my computer to an earlier time is selected, then click Next.image
  3. Use the calendar to select the date (in bold) that you wish to restore to. Note that only the dates in bold actually contain restore points. Once you select the desired date, on the right select specific restore point you wish to use.image

  5. Your computer will reboot, during which process changes will be applied.image
  6. After Windows starts up again you will see a window with a short summary before your Desktop is loaded. Simply click OK, and you will be returned to your Desktop.image
